Stop ants in their tracks.

A colony of thousands can develop before you even notice. And if carpenter ants move in, you could be looking at structural repairs — or losing mature trees. Don't wait.

01 — What you might not know

DIY sprays make it worse.

Most over-the-counter pesticides won't give you the results you expect. Ants avoid many insecticides — and will even split into multiple colonies to steer clear of the spray, potentially trapping the problem inside your home. The only sure way to remove ants is to find their nest, and that takes a properly trained, experienced technician.

02 — Know your enemy

The Odorous House Ant.

NWA's most common invader is the Odorous House Ant — 1/16" to 1/8" long, dark brown or black, with a distinctly sweet coconut smell when crushed. You'll usually spot them in the kitchen, where water and food are easy to find.

Nests turn up everywhere: inside walls, in landscaping, under planters and outdoor furniture. Keep your lawn maintained, firewood far from the house, crumbs cleaned up, cracks sealed, and leaks fixed to lower your risk.

Ants are included in our Pest Service Plan — and we offer one-time help too.
